The WD Gold 18TB is Western Digital's enterprise-class SATA drive, built on the Ultrastar platform with HelioSeal helium technology, CMR recording and a 512MB cache. It suits NAS, server and storage array workloads. Standard SATA 6Gb/s interface.
Compatibility
Works in any system with a 3.5-inch SATA bay: NAS units (Synology, QNAP, TrueNAS, Unraid), servers, JBODs and desktops. SAS controllers and backplanes also accept SATA drives. Verify your enclosure or USB dock supports drives of this capacity before purchasing; some older units top out at 16TB or below.
