The Western Digital DC HC530 is a 14TB enterprise-class hard drive designed for high-density storage deployments, NAS arrays, JBOD enclosures, and server workloads. Built on WD's HelioSeal helium-filled platform with conventional magnetic recording (CMR), these drives offer reliable, consistent performance suitable for 24/7 operation. This listing covers a quantity of individual drives pulled from a datacenter environment and thoroughly tested prior to sale.

Interface note: this is a SAS 12Gb/s drive. It requires a SAS host bus adapter, RAID controller or SAS backplane (LSI/Broadcom, Dell PERC, HPE Smart Array and similar) and will not work on a SATA-only port or in consumer NAS enclosures such as Synology or QNAP without a SAS controller.

How we test used storage drives

    Reallocated, pending and uncorrectable sector counters read from the drive itself.

    Extended self-test

    The drive's own long self-test, run to completion.

  3. Step 3
    Power-on hours cross-check

    Hours compared against the drive's internal logs. We never reset counters.

  4. Step 4
    Wiped

    All previous data is wiped and the wipe is verified.

  5. Step 5
    Tamper seal and certificate

    Sealed after testing with a numbered tamper-evident seal. Its QR code and the certificate in the box open this exact unit's report.

Condition notes

These drives are used and tested. Each unit passed a full S.M.A.R.T. long test. Power-on hours (POH) are in the 30,000-hour range, consistent with datacenter rotation. Zero reallocated sectors were recorded on each unit tested - no pending or uncorrectable sector errors. Firmware and platters are in good working order. Normal external wear may be present; no cosmetic damage that affects function.
