Overview
The Seagate Exos X16 is a 10TB helium-sealed enterprise hard drive built for servers, JBODs and storage arrays that run around the clock. These units come with very low hours for a pulled enterprise drive: every one has between 2,350 and 3,370 power-on hours. This is a SAS 12Gb/s drive and requires a SAS host bus adapter, RAID controller or SAS backplane.
Compatibility
Compatible with enterprise servers, JBODs and storage arrays that provide a 3.5-inch SAS bay and a SAS controller or backplane, such as Dell PowerEdge, HPE ProLiant and Supermicro platforms, and TrueNAS or Unraid builds with an LSI/Broadcom HBA. Not compatible with SATA-only ports or consumer NAS enclosures such as Synology or QNAP without a SAS controller. Verify your enclosure supports drives above 8TB before purchasing.
