How we test used storage drives

This describes our testing process. Contact us for available unit-specific results before ordering.

    SMART health review

    Reallocated, pending and uncorrectable sector counters read from the drive itself.

  2. Step 2
    Extended self-test

    The drive's own long self-test, run to completion.

  3. Step 3
    Power-on hours cross-check

    Hours compared against the drive's internal logs. We never reset counters.

  4. Step 4
    Wiped

    All previous data is wiped and the wipe is verified.

  5. Step 5
    Tamper seal and certificate

    Sealed after testing with a numbered tamper-evident seal. Its QR code and the certificate in the box open this exact unit's report.

Condition notes

This drive is used and tested. Prior to listing, the drive was subjected to a full long SMART self-test, which passed without errors. SMART attributes were reviewed and are within acceptable parameters. Minor cosmetic wear (light scratches or scuffs on the enclosure) may be present - this is normal for a used drive and does not affect functionality. No bad sectors or reallocated sectors were noted at time of testing.
